Carbons Frees are a “soft shell” style skate from USD. USD introduced the “Carbon Free” design in contrast to their existing “Carbon” model, made from a plastic material instead of carbon fiber in order to reduce cost. Carbon Frees come with a 1-piece soul plate and non-removable liners (the liner is part of the boot).
Each skate is made unique for each size available. Because of this, each model released is rumored to have slight nuances in fit.
Carbon Free official size chart (below). Since this skate has a unique boot for each size, the size chart is much more reliable than traditional hard shell skates. Protip: “Mondo” is displayed as millimeters here.
Despite each size skate being unique, they do utilize common sizing for soul plates, which is as follows:
Soul Plate Lengths:
S: 27.2cm (10-3/4″) (39-41 EU)
M: 28.5cm (11-1/4″) (42-43 EU)
L: 30.0cm (11-7/8″) (44-47 EU)
