The USD Shadow is a rebirth of the original Xsjado skates. These skates are extremely unique in that they do not utilize a liner or shell, but rather a baseplate for the user to secure a shoe into. In the recent rebirth of these skates, Powerslide developed a specific high top MyFit shoe/liner hybrid. Unlike the original Xsjado, the USD Shadow cannot be skated with a normal shoe, as the shoe/liner also contains the upper leg padding.
Note on availability: There has not been any official announcement from Powerslide/USD regarding a restock or new release of this skate (or parts) since 2019, however it’s known that Powerslide/USD purchased the Xsjado molds from Salomon and owns all rights to the skate. Chris Farmer (a die-hard Xsjado/Shadow pro) has released a Sway pro model and seemed to move onto that boot, however Eugene Enin dropped an edit featuring him exclusively skating Shadows in November 2020. Enin’s edit contains compilation footage that spans a full year, but there are rumors that it’s indicative of a new Shadow release (and potentially an Enin pro edition) sometime in the future.
